Workshop Supervisor / Senior Bench Joiner - £20.00 - £23.00 p/h - Monday to Friday. Temp 2 Perm

Shift Pattern as a Project Manager : 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Location: Wigston, Leicestershire

Salary as a Workshop Supervisor / Senior Bench Joiner : £20.00 - £23.00 p/h (Depending on experience)

Extrastaff have an exciting opportunity with their client as a Workshop Supervisor / Senior Bench Joiner. The Workshop Supervisor / Senior Bench Joiner is responsible for supervising workshop activities while producing high-quality bespoke joinery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise workshop operatives and apprentices.
• Manufacture, assemble and finish bespoke joinery to a high standard.
• Allocate workloads and support the Production Manager.
• Check incoming materials and finished products, reporting any quality issues.
• Review drawings and cutting lists, providing technical support where required.
• Maintain high Health & Safety and housekeeping standards.
• Support the training and development of apprentices and junior joiners.
• Provide workshop leadership and cover for the Production Manager when needed.

Essential requirements:

• Experience as a Bench Joiner, Senior Bench Joiner or Workshop Supervisor within a joinery, furniture or woodworking environment.
• Strong knowledge of joinery manufacturing, machinery, drawings and assembly processes.
• Experience supervising or mentoring workshop teams or apprentices.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and quality control procedures.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Desirable requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Bench Joinery, Carpentry & Joinery or a related trade.
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience within a joinery or manufacturing workshop.
• IOSH Working Safely or IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and production documentation.
