Hours: 8:00am – 16:30pm

Pay: £14.00 an hour.  

Extrastaff Ltd are recruiting for a Transport Administrator to join a dynamic, award-winning logistics business, to support our busy transport and fleet operations in Nuneaton on a provisional 3-month basis.

Duties of Transport Administrator:

  • Raise and track Purchase Orders (POs) in line with transport requirements.
  • Review, code, and cost off transport-related invoices, ensuring all data is accurately processed into SAP.
  • Proactively challenge supplier costs and discrepancies to ensure value for money and contract alignment.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with transport suppliers while firmly negotiating and resolving billing disputes.
  • Support the central Transport function with general finance admin tasks and ad hoc queries.
  • Vehicle Servicing & MOTs: Coordinate and track routine vehicle inspections, servicing schedules, MOTs, and calibrations.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all vehicles and drivers adhere to legal transport legislation, O-licence disks are valid, and road fund licences are current.
  • Defect Chasing: Review driver defect sheets, liaise with third-party garages/maintenance providers to arrange repairs, and track vehicle downtime. 

What you'll need to succeed as a Transport Administrator

  • Industry Experience: Proven background in a transport administration, logistics, or fleet environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Confidence in processing invoices on SAP, raising POs, and performing cost-challenge exercises.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Transport/fleet legal compliance, vehicle maintenance standards, and tachograph/driver hour rules.
  • System Proficiency: Strong general IT skills, including MS Office (specifically Excel) and experience using complex internal database/transport systems.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written skills, capable of chasing up paperwork with difficult vendors and challenging costs effectively.
  • Flexibility: A full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel occasionally to Oxford and Doncaster.
